Heather Wood
Freelance Web Designer in Spokane WA

I graduated with a degree in Software Development back in 2010. I’ve been successful at maintaining and growing my web design business for over 6 years while working for individuals, small businesses and large businesses. I am skilled as a front end developer, back end developer and graphic designer. I love what I do and treat every website I develop or work on as if it was my very own. I love connecting with different clients from all over the world and providing them with the one-to-one services that are hard to find in the web development world. If I’m not able to solve a problem for my clients, I’ll always do my best to find someone who can.

On my free time I like to write poetry and am actively trying to finish a novel. I enjoy living in the pacific northwest with all it’s great family oriented activities such as hiking, biking, camping, swimming and picking huckleberries. It sure is a beautiful place to raise my children.

Jobs That Educated Me

Professional Experience

Fortunately, I have worn several different hats in my career days. All jobs, large or small, I always strived to be unsurpassed in the task handed to me. It is my belief, no matter what we do in life, there is always something to be learned that can empower our souls and strengthen our minds to help shape us into successful individuals.

  • Web Developer and Designer Designing since 2003 and developing since 2008 has equipped me with the knowledge and experience to build search engine friendly sites that are secure, up to date and highly attractive for your small business.
  • Residential Supervisor Managed and counseled a young girl’s therapeutic home empowering their quality of life on a daily basis. Administered medications and documented important information about their behaviors with themselves, other clients and staff.
  • Kitchen Designer Being a kitchen designer for nearly 5 years required me to carry a vast skill set to make it through the day. On a weekly basis I traveled to clients homes developing project proposals working directly with the General Contractor and/or home owner. While managing and organizing a database of numerous clients I developed a great rapport with them and displayed excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Sprinkler and Septic Design Utilized advanced drafting techniques while calculating dimensions, angles, curvature of parts and materials to be used from client blue prints for the purpose of estimating project costs.
  • Ice Cream Chef Extraordinaire I displayed strong ability to work independently, or in a team environment, as a passionate ice cream chef and artist ^_^ As you can see from my various careers, I was able to take with me significant expertise that I utilize on a daily basis while developing websites; design, contract writing, proposals, customer service, management and administration.

Why the name Ravenous Raven Design?

I get asked this all the time. I have a deep love for poetry and one of my favorite poems (which I have memorized) is The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. Ravenous, well, just cause it sounds cool together. Am I right? Okay, how bout because I have a ravenous hunger for knowledge and competition 🙂

From a marketing standpoint, it’s also good because people remember  unique names more than they do the generic ones.
